La idea es animar a los estudiantes a tomar mejores decisiones por medio de reconocimientos, de este modo, cada mes los alumnos nos estaremos enfocando en una letra del P.R.I.D.E, los cuales son los valores fundamentales de nuestra escuela, para mejorar como personas y, por qué no, ¡a cambio de «Stingray bucks»! Nuestros profesores nos darán cortas lecciones en sus clases reforzando el valor mensual en el que nos centremos. Con esto, crearemos un ambiente positivo pudiendo ser premiados por cumplir las reglas.

¿Cómo funciona?
De seguro tendrás muchas preguntas con este sistema: ¿cómo obtengo los «Stingray bucks», ¿qué podría comprar con ellos…? ¡Deja, qué te explico!
Por ejemplo, en este mes nos estamos enfocando en la actitud POSITIVA, si cumples con este valor, tu profesor te dará uno de estos dólares, los cuales son un papel de color verde. Al recibir un «Dolar stingray» serás elogiado por cumplir esta función del P.R.I.D.E. Esto no es un dólar real, sin embargo, sí puedes comprar cosas con ellos como comida de la cafetería hasta unas gafas de sol. Ya que este es un sistema que se ha introducido recientemente en la escuela, podrás oír detalles de esto en tu hora de almuerzo, además de en las noticias de la escuela ya sea la versión en español o la de inglés. ¡Manténganse atentos!
La importancia de los «Stingray bucks»
¿Por qué importan estos «Stingray bucks»? ¡Buena pregunta! Los «Stingray bucks», creas o no, fomentan la motivación de los estudiantes para tomar mejores decisiones, lo cual también crea un sentido de responsabilidad en ellos. A todo el mundo le gusta ser premiados con caramelos, puntos extra que mejoran el grado, un email positivo hacia los padres, u otros incentivos por los profesores. Estos premios nos dan una razón o suben nuestra motivación para cumplir con los valores del tanto importante P.R.I.D.E. Así que si piensas en este sistema solo como algo donde puedes obtener comida gratis, es un poco más profundo que eso, ¡es premiarnos por ser mejores mantarrayas! (Aunque sí, amamos la comida gratis ツ)

Let’s get into the details! The idea is to encourage students to make better choices through recognition. Each month, we’ll focus on a letter of the P.R.I.D.E. acronym, which represents our school’s core values, to improve ourselves and, why not, earn «Stingray bucks»! Our teachers will give us short lessons in their classes, reinforcing the monthly value we’re focusing on. This will create a positive environment where we can be rewarded for following the rules.

How does it work?
You probably have a lot of questions about this system: How do I get «Stingray bucks», what can I buy with them…? Let me explain!
For example, this month we’re focusing on a POSITIVE attitude. If you demonstrate this value, your teacher will give you one of these dollars, which are green slips of paper. Receiving a «Stingray buck» means you’ll be praised for fulfilling this P.R.I.D.E. function. This isn’t real money, but you can buy things with it, from cafeteria food to sunglasses. Since this system was recently introduced at school, you’ll hear details about it during lunch, as well as in the school news, either the Spanish or English version. Stay tuned!

Why do these «Stingray Bucks” matter? Great question! «Stingray bucks», believe it or not, encourage students to make better choices, which also fosters a sense of responsibility. Everyone likes being rewarded with candy, extra credit that improves their grade, a positive email to their parents, or other incentives from teachers. These rewards give us a reason or boost our motivation to live up to the all-important P.R.I.D.E. values. So if you think of this system as just a way to get free food, it’s a little deeper than that—it’s about rewarding us for being better Stingrays! (Although, yes, we do love free food ツ)
