lavozdeisaPor fin llegó la Navidad. El invierno es una estación principalmente llena de regalos, nieve y frío (no en Florida), donde se puede disfrutar en familia o con amigos. Además, es perfecto para ver películas, visitar lugares interesantes y cocinar cosas ricas.
Diversidad de cultura
Da igual que se llame Navidad, Kwanzaa, Dongzhi o Hanukkah, por ejemplo. Todas estas tradiciones tienen una cosa en común: celebrar el amor a los nuestros. Igualmente, os hacemos un resumen:
- HANUKKAH: Fiesta judía que recuerda la rededicación del Templo de Jerusalén y el milagro de la luz durante ocho días.
- NAVIDAD: Celebración cristiana que conmemora el nacimiento de Jesús y se vive como una festividad familiar y cultural en muchos países.
- KWANZAA: Celebración cultural afroamericana que honra la herencia africana mediante valores como la unidad, la cooperación y la creatividad.
- DONGZHI: Festival tradicional chino que celebra el solsticio de invierno y el equilibrio entre el yin y el yang.
Algunas recomendaciones
Para que no estés aburrido en casa, y acompañado de dulces y palomitas, se me ocurren muchas películas que puedas ver. Si quisieras ver algunas clásicas, y además populares, apuesta por Solo en Casa, El Grinch, Elf, u otras más recientes como Crónicas de Narnia, ¡mi favorita!
Y, obviamente, no se te pueden olvidar que es época de comer, para acompañar todas esas experiencias, que varían según los países de origen de quien lo celebre; desde tamales, pozoles, ricas carnes, turrón, polvorones, marisco, ¡y mucho más!
Además, la zona en la que vivimos, ofrece un montón de opciones. West Palm Beach permite disfrutar de eventos como Holiday in Paradise, que incluye Sandi, un árbol de Navidad hecho enteramente de arena, y la rueda de la fortuna Ferris. ¡Todos planes originales!
En definitiva, es momento de celebrar con los suyos, con las tradiciones que le identifiquen. Recuerden que no estaremos de vuelta en la Escuela hasta el 6 de enero.

Christmas is finally here. Winter is a season filled with gifts, snow, and cold weather (except in Florida), perfect for enjoying time with family and friends. It’s also ideal for watching movies, visiting interesting places, and cooking delicious meals.
Diversity of cultures
Whether it’s called Christmas, Kwanzaa, Dongzhi, or Hanukkah, for example, all these traditions have one thing in common: celebrating love for our loved ones. Here’s a summary:

To keep you entertained at home, and with some sweets and popcorn, I can think of plenty of movies you could watch. If you’d like to see some classics, and popular ones at that, consider Home Alone, The Grinch, Elf, or more recent ones like The Chronicles of Narnia—my personal favorite!
And, of course, don’t forget that it’s the season for food, to accompany all these experiences, which vary depending on the country of origin of the person celebrating; from tamales and pozole to delicious meats, turrón, polvorones, seafood, and much more!
Plus, the area where we live offers tons of options. In West Palm Beach, you can enjoy events like Holiday in Paradise, which includes Sandi, a Christmas tree made entirely of sand, and the Ferris wheel. All original plans!
Ultimately, it’s time to celebrate with your loved ones, with the traditions that define you. Remember that we won’t be back at school until January 6th.
